Home screen: visitors tap a photo to expand information about each individual

Visitors compare the way that racial categories for an individual were documented and how that compared to how would describe their racial identity. The data set was the US census from 5 years with a range of diversity they recognized.

In the multi colored horizontal bar shows the range of racial terms used in the same year across the 7 individuals.

A poll for visitors to vote for how they think future Census’ should discuss race and ethic topics.

By selecting one of the 4 options, the pros and cons of that choice are revealed in a blue pop up.

After an option is submitted the trends of visitor responses are displayed as percentages and bar graphs.
